Infant, Toddler, Three Year Old Development Guidelines
As educators of young children, we wish to share a new statewide public awareness campaign on the importance of early childhood development titled “Little Texans Big Futures.”
The campaign message is based on the new Infant, Toddler, and Three-Year-Old Early Learning Guidelines.
Parental Concerns Choosing Day Care for Your Child
The awareness campaign provides useful reminders addressing these important parent concerns,
- Selecting high quality child care,
- Responsive care-giving,
- The importance of developmental screenings.
These evidence based guidelines have been developed over a period of two years by the Texas Early Learning Council.
They focus on ensuring that all children have the high-quality early experiences required for optimal brain development during the critical period of birth to three years of age and on into kindergarten.
They are designed to assist caregivers in understanding early childhood development.

The website is intended to support parents, caregivers, and anyone interested in promoting the healthy development of young children, and is designed to help adults understand more about how young children grow and build skills, and how adults can support their development. You will also find great resources including posters, radio and video ads, the early learning guidelines (in English, Spanish and Vietnamese), a parent’s guide to choosing child care, and many more resources to use and share with others.
